One run was the difference at the ballpark as the Dublin Pubcrawlers were able
to stop their 5 game losing streak and defeated the Burbank Tigers 4 to
3.
Dublin scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Moises Alou
doubled. After an out was recorded, Carlos Lee came to the plate and was
walked intentionally. Patterson proceeded to steal third base. Gary
Matthews Jr stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run. Trevor
Hoffman was perfect in relief and got the save, his 28th.
Russ Springer(2-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. The
losing pitcher was Logan Kensing(1-1) in relief. He pitched 2 innings
allowing 2 hits and 2 walks.
'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Adam Smith sighed. 'That win feels like a tall, cool
drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
